Well let me start by saying that I've possibly got every one of these songs spread over various other albums and compilation Cd's. Some of which I've either played far too much already, or they've just been used to bookend other Cd's over the years!!! So really on paper, that should stop me from buying this one?...no way, as this is an absolute superb collection of 70's and 80's songs that's been put together on one very fine 3 disc CD.
Of course this is not a unique line-up of bands/singers, and some of these tracks are pretty much standard that you will find on most decade compilation Cd's, however they sit alongside some monumental classics by such artists as XTC, Bad Manners, B.A.Robertson, Rock Steady Crew, Average White Band, and plenty of others. And that's where this Cd's strength is, not being afraid to put these, and others like Paul McCartney & The Frog Chorus, Stephen 'Tin Tin' Duffy, Buggles, and Men Without Hats and mix them up with the more popular Wham, Bowie,… more »
