Had this album for about a year or so now and just listening to it today, forgot how good it is, some unreal songs a must buy for any1, mellow and makes you want to hold your loved one and go to sleep, DeanJess x

this album is a work of beauty. for the uninitiated, Sigur Ros can be a difficult and challenging band to get into, but perseverence is well rewarded.
whether they sing in that made-up language of theirs, or Icelandic, the majority of listeners will not understand a word at all. it is the music, which takes you on the journey. the epic Hoppipolla is the epitome of jubilation, whatever the language. Glosoli is the tender and intimate lullaby that lulls you into a dreamworld of its own while Andvari is a woozy string-laden soundscape for watching the sun rise to.
many years ago i had been ranting on about how important lyrics were to songs, but bands such as Sigur Ros have had me rethink this notion. like the Cocteau Twins before them, their music speaks far louder than words ever will,. whatever language or whether the song is 2 minutes long or 10 minutes, it all flows and merges together seamlessly. its a concept album without a concept. give it a chance and it will all make sense.
