Ah, the sheer beauty of complicated simplicity...
If anyone happened to watch about 20 minutes of BBC channels last year you would have almost certainly heard at least one song on Takk. They put it on almost everything - not to mention the (absurdly brilliant) Planet Earth trailers. Fair enough though, as it was probably the best album of 2006.
This is by far Sigur Ros' most accomplished work, with not a single moment that is anything but truly stunning.
All of the eleven songs here are so prestinely in sync with each other that this album would work if they were combined into one ultra-beast-uber-track of an hour in length. As it is though, this is one of the most finely tuned, seriously magnificent all-round albums in decades.
I have said it before - Sigur Ros are a band to be loved. Should anyone question that, they need to hear this album.
