this is a new edition of this album with a little less elaborate packaging but, crucially, it has an altered tracklisting. the opening track of the first edition, mommie don't, has dissapeared and is replaced by the final track here, angel 3 dub which is reputedly, although i haven't checked, the same as angel 4 matrix on orbsessions volume two. why? i'm guessing here but mommie... sounded like a very early orb track and maybe an old collaborator objected. anyway, this makes this version slightly less attractive to the casual purchaser but essential for sad orb comletists like me! still, an excellent album with plenty of variety and surprisingly high quality overall considering these are basically outtakes. the original version definately gets an extra star, but this is still well worth a look. check out volume two which gets an easy five stars, and await the promised volume three with baited breath. in the meantime the new album, the dream, is an absolute peach!
