  • Follow-up to 2003's American Life from pop-queen Madonna. Co-written and primarily co-produced by Madonna and Stuart Price, the album was recorded in London. Experimenting with an array of electronic dance beats and samples, this offering strays away from her usual straight pop sound. The single 'Hung Up' is included.

Madonna - Confessions on a Dance floor

Madonna is without doubt the most successful female solo artist of her time. Like David Bowie she has the ability to blend into popular styles and produce a unique sound that captures the feel of the era. Confessions on a Dancefloor is no exception which manages to blend dance and disco into someone special.

This is Madonna's best album since music and if I'm being honest I would say that it is potential her best ever. The reason is simple, each song could be released as a single and it would do well, but that doesn't even do the songs justice, they are some of the best music of its genre to appear for a long time. Skilfully crafted, highly polished songs and dedication to her music makes it is obviously that she meant business and wanted to be taken seriously with this release.

After her very disappointing American Life album she has done what every good musician does, comes back with something better. One of the best albums to come out that year and remember 2005 was one of the best years for British music in years.

Superbly slick production is absolutely the key to this, Madonna's best and purest pop album since her 1980s heyday.

With all tracks essentially blending together into one continous album and with a pace that rarely slows down from the brilliantly ABBA sampled 'Hung Up' all the way through to the final track this has barely a bad track on it, including an ingenious reworking of 'Like a Prayer' as the basis for 'Push'.

I almost always play it in full because once I begin, I don't want to interrupt it's flow. Unquestionably this is Madonna's most completely enjoyable album of the last few years.

My favourite Madonna album by far - huge slabs of bassline, melodic hook-laden pop and superb production from Stuart Price. Whilst 'Hung Up' is the biggest hit of the album, it is surpassed by the filter house perfection of 'Sorry' and the space age disco of 'Get Together'. The clear standout is 'Jump', which is like a self-help manual's worth of positive thinking distilled into a surging, uplifting dance anthem. Tracks segue into one another and yet each has its own distinct role to play in creating what to my mind is one of the best dance music albums of all time.

If this doesn't get you dancing...NOTHING WILL.

Well, she's done it again.
Being the huge Madonna fan that I am, the woman returns and continues yet again to fascinate me with a new sound combined with 70's farah fawcette disco queen incarnation.
This album is AMAZING and (for me) it's on the same level of greatness as "Like A Prayer" and "Ray Of Light"
The album kicks off with the first single "Hung Up" and with all the glittery camp ingrediants to make this an instant classic equal to the likes of "Vogue" and "Into The Groove" what more could you ask?
"Hung Up" performed extremely well on the charts and proved to be one of the biggest selling hits of her entire career.
The second song from "Confessions" is "Get Together"...another fantastic piece of art which very much reminds me of a cross between "Stardusts - Music Sounds Better With You" and an updated version of "Holiday". 9/10 for this one.
I'd like to review them all but most of the tracks (If not all) are wonderful.
Another one that stands out alongside the great "Hung Up" for me is "Future Lovers"...a mixture of Donna Summers - "I Feel Love" with a pulsating futureristic beat would even get your granny out of her rockin chair. It's THAT good and should have been a single. :)

All the songs on the album are mixed together like a type of "Ministry of sound/Ibiza" compilation and by the end you'll be left feeling physically exhausted.

If your fan of Madonna from the 80's, then buy this...it's catchy, it's camp...it's GREAT! it'll not leave your cd player for months.
10/10
