Well, she's done it again.
Being the huge Madonna fan that I am, the woman returns and continues yet again to fascinate me with a new sound combined with 70's farah fawcette disco queen incarnation.
This album is AMAZING and (for me) it's on the same level of greatness as "Like A Prayer" and "Ray Of Light"
The album kicks off with the first single "Hung Up" and with all the glittery camp ingrediants to make this an instant classic equal to the likes of "Vogue" and "Into The Groove" what more could you ask?
"Hung Up" performed extremely well on the charts and proved to be one of the biggest selling hits of her entire career.
The second song from "Confessions" is "Get Together"...another fantastic piece of art which very much reminds me of a cross between "Stardusts - Music Sounds Better With You" and an updated version of "Holiday". 9/10 for this one.
I'd like to review them all but most of the tracks (If not all) are wonderful.
Another one that stands out alongside the great "Hung Up" for me is "Future Lovers"...a mixture of Donna Summers - "I Feel Love" with a pulsating futureristic beat would even get your granny out of her rockin chair. It's THAT good and should have been a single. :)

All the songs on the album are mixed together like a type of "Ministry of sound/Ibiza" compilation and by the end you'll be left feeling physically exhausted.

If your fan of Madonna from the 80's, then buy this...it's catchy, it's camp...it's GREAT! it'll not leave your cd player for months.
10/10

This is by far her best album it is soo beaulitfully produced and it all fits together perfectly.
Hard Candy does not even measure up to this although it is a good album.
There is not a dull song on this album. the album is perfect its an album where you can sing along to everyone song and also dance to everyone.
I recommend this to everyone, brilliant.

Maddy never ceases to inspire me. This album is no exception. Although I feel it's at a completely opposite end of the spectrum to American Life, it has all the makings of a classic (as most Madonna albums seem to end up). A Maddy album you can dance to - without the 80's cheese of 'get into the groove' (not knocking it, just grown up a bit since then!), with the more personal songs she likes to throw in there - Push/Like It Or Not - and no sign of her 'mother' in the lyrics for a refreshing change. It's of course a MUST album for all Madonna fans and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Hard Candy - which I'm sure won't disappoint either.

all the tracks link very well and all songs on this album are as slick as hell.
i cant find my favourite track here as they're all as good as each other.
MADONNA is back on the dancefloor peeps.
after i was disappointed with american life(not the song thats great but the album as a whole)with only die another day and hollywood as other good tracks and the rest fell down.
this is a return to form and i hope HARD CANDY will be similar to this...it has every right to be.
it would have been better if she did disco tracks of her original songs (vogue, erotica, like a virgin etc) on this album rather than just on the live album/i feel like getting that soon if the price comes down a lil bit.
keep goin madge you're AWESOME!!!

Probably one of Madonna's most disappointing albums with the exception american life, hung up was a great first single but sadly its all down hill from that, the songs are repetitive and the album goes no where, ray of light was a brilliant madonna album and sadly this album just shows madonna is running out of steam more and more with each album

Madonna - Confessions on a Dance floor

Madonna is without doubt the most successful female solo artist of her time. Like David Bowie she has the ability to blend into popular styles and produce a unique sound that captures the feel of the era. Confessions on a Dancefloor is no exception which manages to blend dance and disco into someone special.

This is Madonna's best album since music and if I'm being honest I would say that it is potential her best ever. The reason is simple, each song could be released as a single and it would do well, but that doesn't even do the songs justice, they are some of the best music of its genre to appear for a long time. Skilfully crafted, highly polished songs and dedication to her music makes it is obviously that she meant business and wanted to be taken seriously with this release.

After her very disappointing American Life album she has done what every good musician does, comes back with something better. One of the best albums to come out that year and remember 2005 was one of the best years for British music in years.

In more than a 20 years career, Madonna traced a personal and distinctive path in the pop music, sometimes with good steps, sometimes with bad ones.
This work could be intended as a sort of synthesis of what she's done in the past enclosing dance music as to remember where she comes from.
Unfortunately "Confessions on a dance floor" doesn't reach the goal completely, suffering from some overproducing that alters and sometimes hides the potentialities of most of the songs, potentialities that flow out much better in the live performances.

Altough, after the less convincing "Music" and "Ray of light" and the not completely resolved "American Life", Mrs Ciccone seems to have found again her personal voice, a unique style, the reason why she's arrived where she is now.

This album is the first step of a new ascension in which I confide she'll remember that she's not only a hit parade eater, but also a good songwriter capable of being heartful, provocatory, sarcastic, and not only this. Songs such as "Let it will be", "Isaac", "Like it or not", "Forbidden love" have their real light cealed under the wish of doing something that hits the audience with freshness, resulting only to hit their ears, sometimes brutally, in the willing of trying to undercover their treasures.
That doesn't mean they're bad songs, on the contrary these songs are probably some of the best of the last years, they only needed to be less artificious and to get their soul liberated.

Not every day we can expect sparks of geniality (as we find in works such as "Like a Prayer", "Erotica", "Bedtime Stories" just to mention some) but here these sparks are present, surviving but not really alive.

Hoping that Madonna will not lose herself again on the road, this album is worth a try, but the best thing a person can do is going directly to the "Confessions tour" DVD and place the order. That one is really a must have and how these songs should be.

Like a vintage wine or a flavoursome cheese, Madonna just gets better as time goes by. And with this, her upteenth album (who's counting!), she returns to what she does best - giving us fantastic pop tunes and pounding rhythms that make toe-tapping unavoidable.

When Madonna is good, she's formidable, and standards such as "Hung Up" and "Sorry" set the scene for this dance/pop-fest. More subtle yet irresistible tunes such as "Forbidden Love" and "Like It Or Not" are bound to leave you humming for days, weeks...no, years ahead!

Her holiness' attempt at earth-mother on the track "Isaac" is slightly wide of the mark, but blends in rather well on what is, essentially a concept album. What is the concept, you ask? Answer: good old fashioned fun, fun, fun!

Worth every penny.
