Fiddle, flute and keyboard; the ideal instruments for a showcase of the Sligo style of Irish traditional music as played by the late fiddler, James Morrison. The trio play in the relaxed yet driving style typical of the county. Six sets of reels, four of jigs, a hornpipe and a slow air give a balance you'd expect to hear in a session. Most are well enough known to Irish musicians with the exception of the Clare version of 'The Gold Ring', not often played outside the Banner County. Opening with the reels, 'Seán Ryan's' and 'Farewell to Ireland' (not the reel usually so-called but good enough for all that), and closing with those favourite jigs, 'Strike the Gay Harp' and 'The Shores of Loch Gowna', there are 12 tracks of grand music.
