I have to say this was a bit of a blind purchase for me as I knew nothing about it, however, I was not disappointed.
For anyone who is sick of how hip-hop is going these days with poor artists such as Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne being the people relate to as 'hip-hop' when they say they hate hip-hop, this is more like how it should/used to be done.
All the beats are unique with clever production and sampling to create tracks that sound somehow different but similar to the last. All the beats are funky and traditional rather than synthesized with no gangster rapping to be found, most stuff is similar in style to De La Soul etc. The guest stars range from all genres of music and this helps to create a sound that is largely incomparable, with the nearest comparison being Handsome Boy Modeling School.
This is a great CD and can be enjoyed by all as it does not specifically conform to a particular genre, good for people who only listen to certain types of music to start trying out new styles.
