- Ninth studio album from phenomenally successful stadium funk-rockers is a sprawling two-disc affair. Leaving behind the boyish tomfoolery and hard-living excess of old for tasteful musicianship and a gloss of studio sheen, here they turn in more of the effortlessly slick songwriting they presented on their last couple of albums. Recorded with metal legend Rick Rubin, it includes the single 'Dani California'.

I know im a chili fanatic but i must say to find a double album where every song in my opinion is worthy of release is something to behold.
You really do need to buy this album to find out how truly well the RHCP have changed and adapted to the modern times without losing there edge that gives them that something bit more. After 25 years of being in existance that also is something that is almost unheard of.
I think you'll struggle to find a sound minded indivdual who would give this album anything less than a 5 star rating.
This is a disappointing album. Why are there 28 tracks when there are only ten (at most) good tracks.
It has been very mixed in the reviews of this album with the claims that most of the songs are too slow or just don't sound like the Red Hots'. But frankly, they've got no idea! This album is, as you can see, huge!!! 28 songs, and they're all fantastic! The Chili's have progressed to write more softer, touching songs such as, Snow ((Hey Oh)), Stadium Arcadium, Slow Cheetah, Hey, Desecretion Smile, If and She Looks to me. But have also combined more rockier old style Peppers with the infamous Dani California, the funkadelic Hump de Bump, the pounding Torture me, the smash hit Tell me Baby, the Zeppelin sounding Readymade & Storm in a Teacup, reminiscent of the Blood Sugar days. Delving into the recent By the Way sound; Death of a Martian, Turn it Again and 21st Century mirrors the album. The combining elements of all their past albums prove this one to be in the top running of the best album of 2006.
