not quite rap music but better

| | See all XscubasteveX182's reviews (34)

its not quite rap music its more sort of spoken word in the best possible kind of way, with a real sense of social comentary and a story to tell. mike skinners compeling beats and personality really come out on this his 3rd album. its more an autobiography of his life and the things he gets upto and the things he gets wrong (see fake streets hats) its not rap music but its in away but miles away from 50 cent, eminem or the game because mike has a story to tell you if you are willing to sit down and listen. his social lyrical content leave you guessing who that celebrity who he is talkin about on 'when you was'nt famous' really is? maybe shes not real who cares when this is great stuff.

 He's made better albums

I thought this album was very good and interesting and sticks to the point. But he has made better album's with better stories on it. I recommend that you buy "A Grand Don't Come Free" its better and has better stories and you'll chuckle with the similarity of the mistakes that you have made.

 Not his best........

The, as every Streets fan knows, is not his best album, but is does contain, in my opinion, one of his best songs.... All goes out the window has got to be my favourite song by them and the standard by which all his others should be judged! Brilliant lyrics and vocals. The only other tracks worth listening to are When you wasn't famous, and Never went to Church!!
