10000 Days was released 5 years after Lateralus. Was it worth the wait? Hell yes. Tool are on they're usual great form, Maynard's vocals excel and are backed up by tour de force musicianship from the rest of the band. While Lateralus seemed like a complex wall of sound, the tunes here are slightly heavier and broken down a bit. That said, the title track explores a more progressive sound (and clocks in at over 10 minutes) and shows some great sound dynamics. Tool fans tend to be divided between their Undertow sound and their current sound, and while 10000 Days is more in line with Aenima and Lateralus, tunes such as Pot and Vicarious make cool rock anthems.
