  • Rebirth is Lil' Wayne's seventh studio album and one that sees him pick up a guitar and rock out. Wayne is calling it his rock album debut, but he hasn't entirely abandoned hip hop as it includes some tunes in the familiar Lil' Wayne style. Many guests have been lined up to make appearances on this record including Fall Out Boy, Lenny Kravitz, Pete Wentz and Eminem. The big names don't stop there as in the producer's chair we have DJ Infamous and Andrew "Drew" Correa, quite a pedigree!

The album also features the hit single Prom Queen, a track he wrote with Shanell Woodgett, and one that proved his new direction wasn't going to put off old fans. This is a new chapter for Lil' Wayne, why not check it out?

If you like your hip-hop to be innovative and boundary pushing, take a look at these hugely inspiring releases:

With a unique fusion of hip-hop and neo-soul, Gnarls Barkley grabbed the attention of the music world with their incredible debut, St. Elsewhere, which spawned massive hit 'Crazy'

The winner of several awards including the Grammy Award for 'Best Rap Album', hip-hop legend Kanye West released Late Registration in 2005 to massive acclaim.

Widely considered a groundbreaking moment in the history of modern hip-hop, Curtis by 50 Cent features production from Dr. Dre, Eminem and Timbaland among others.

Eminem's masterpiece The Marshall Mathers LP was the biggest selling hip-hop/rap album in history, selling over 1.79 million copies in a week in the US alone.

Lil' Wayne's taken a big risk with this album, but for me it's paid off, it's possibly the best blend of rock rifts with hip-hop since, dare I say RUN-DMC.
Lyrically I see someone described it as genius, it's hardly that but it's decent, you're not going to get Rakim, KRS-One or evn Jay-Z from Weezy (but you shouldn't be expecting to) but it's consistent.
Currently mainstream Rap in the USA is going through a poor period, Lil' Wayne remains one of the few shining lights.

 Disappointed

Always been a huge fan of Lil Wayne, after hearing this i wanted to change my views, lets just hope this is a one off because this albums is his worst. I recommend The Carter III. Very disappointed, there is only one good song "Drop The World" and that is only because Eminem is in the song, THIS IS NOT THE OLD WAYNE!!

Rock N Lil Wayne Done Work !!!

This Album is awful, every track is lil waynes voice with over the top guitars and rock beats, it just doesnt work, after his featured tracks with jay sean, chris brown etc i was looking forward to this album,
its just the beats and tunes thta dont work. Only decent song is with eminem!!!!

This album is brilliant, really didn't think it would be this good but it is there's only 2 or 3 tracks that aren't great the rest are really good but the stand out ones and my favourites by far are:

American Star
Da Da Da
Paradice
Drop The World Feat. Eminem
Knockout Feat. Nicki Minaj

NOBODY GO A SWAGGA LIKE WEEZY

Wow if "Tha Carter 3" was something to remember, this album is 10 steps further. Different sounds to what we're used to hearing from him buy this album, trust me,you won't regret it.
I got my copy from the states a few days ago and just got to hearing it now. Lots of guitars throughout,
DA DA DA is a great track, lots of summer smashes on here.

Features from eminem on here too. I could talk all day about it.
