If you tell me, listening to the New Born, 6 minute prog-rock wonder-tainment epic, that you didn't have high hopes for the rest of this album, then you're nothing but a liar.
A second album; yes it does fall into the usual pit falls, a heavy opener, a sombre ending, all those things that seem to be law more than artistic.
Showbiz did have a certain feel to it. Mainly the age old song writing method of making your songs sound like they're directing at a person, as opposed to a thing or event. Origin of Symmetry is in that same feel, but so much more angst filled. Screams of "I DON'T LOVE YOU!" pour out of the epic Hyper Music. But far from being all "Coldplay" and self loathing, this album has the overall feel of some one dragging them selves up from the ground and putting themselves back in control.
Citizen Erased could well be one of my top 5 songs ever.
The whole album is epic. Even by track 3, Space Dementia, you know this album is going to be bigger than you could have imagined, and by the time Micro Cuts draw to a close, you'll be in a Muse induced trance. Megalomania closes the album, and I only have one word: Organs.
From start to finish this album will be a journey and when you come out of the other side, you will forever hold a passport to Muse's world, in the form of this record.
Absolutely 100% fantastic
