I've listened to almost every score recorded for star trek films and tv, this is something very different but almost the same. Michael Giacchino has become one of my favourite composers. Like every film composer before he like to add themes like many of his other works, in places you can hear, Lost, Fringe, Mission impossible, and my favourite Cloverfield. The music is very powerful taking it back to its Star Trek routes, the horn section is superb, the strings do any movie score justice, but this one is just a little more special. This is a must buy for any Trekker, or trekkie, and for fans of Michael's Giacchino's work. You will enjoy.
