Madonna's second greatest hits album covers her 1990 work. Like the Immaculate Collection it excludes some of her hits but most of the big ones are here, excluding the number 1 - 'American Pie'.
Unlike the Immaculate collection most of the tracks here are in their original form, albeit it usually the single edit.
The best tracks are the tracks from Ray Of Light onwards.
Given the period it covers, most of the tracks here are dance orientated with 'Ray Of Light' and 'Music' being particularly strong and original while 'Frozen' sounds just as haunting now as it did when first released.
While the tracks on the album are all of the highest of standard the album as a whole doesn't work as well as The Immaculate Collection, largely down to it not being in chronological order. It gives the album very much a dis-jointed feel and 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' sounds totally out of place because of this.
It would also have been nice to have had a double CD covering some of the missed classics that weren't on The Immaculate Collection. But when all is said and done those are small grumbles over what is a great look at a great artists 90s output.
