alexisonfire are my all time fave band and this album is a corker. guitarist wade macneil seems to nail is on the first song.
in crisis hearing him shout "this is from our hearts" sends shivers down my spine everytime
and this time in the song old crows, again wade's smokey voice shouting "we are not the kids we use to be" sets the tone on the album.
a main difference is Georges vocal style. he's going from his barks of anger to a more growling voice which works with the guitar riffs, which seem rather less precise as they were in crisis, but still amazing.
some alexis fans have slated this album saying it's rubbish they have changed their sound, but every young band should be given a chance to grow up, this is the sound they were hoping for, and i'm happy when their happy.
i saw some of the songs playing live when i went to the 3 london boarderline shows and they fit in perfectly in to the set and they are well worth checking out at reading or leeds, or on thier tour with anti flag in october.
