Fantastic album in all areas old school rock n roll riffs and brutal vocals, easily one of the best albums of 2009 with out a doubt :)
Yeah. That's right. This album does Own. With a capital 'O'.
Yeah.
My personal favourites are 'Scared To Change', 'Forever' and 'My Lord'. But then there's 'Witches' and...
Damn it, s'all good! Each song is an absolute stormer - with its own messages, intricate melodies and drums. The heavy yet melodic sound makes for an energetic yet upbeat feel (frontman Rich Carter once said he wanted his crowds 'doing star jumps') which works great and gives a unique stamp to a truly unique debut.
This is a definite BUY BUY BUY for fans of Gallows, Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die, The Plight etc. but if you're into any incarnation punk or metal music you should really give this a listen, as the sound borrows from a great number of places from the southern rock-ey guitars to the sludge-ey breakdown in 'Forever'.
They even have the video for 'Scared To Change' up on youtube, so check that out if you're still not convinced.
Peace out.
