John Peel Session (16 May 1978)

Why oh why have these tracks never been released before!!!????
Ive been waiting since the early 80's for decent copies.
In some ways I feel the Peel versions uncover hidden detail in the tracks lost on the Virgin sessions, especially on Open Sound and show the humorous side of the band on the intro and outro of TV Stars ! The immediacy of recording works on all of the tracks and I can even live without the awesome and pointed guitar solo on Of One Skin as recorded on Scared to Dance..
I would 100% recommend this album, but then I am very biased!!

These sessions should have been made available years ago,us fans have been listening to poor quality copies from tapes for so long that getting to hear how they are meant to sound is to pardon the pun "music to my ears" if carlsberg made bands they'd make the skids.please sir can i have some more?

Superb first Peel session from the Skids. 40 year olds can now hear this session as Peel heard it - crystal clear unlike the rest of us listening on noisy old MW radio (ask yer dad if under 35).
Still sounds exciting years later. Let's have the other 4 sessions!
