This is a beautiful and nostalgic record from the world's best selling female artist. The over-all feel of the album is relaxed and is easy to listen to as a whole piece of work; some songs are meant to be listened to as an album and not alone, whilst others (Obsessed, Ribbon, It's A Wrap, Angel's Cry and I Wanna Know What Love Is) deserve to be appreciated as entities in themselves. The vocals are dynamic... being soft to be begin, almost reminiscing and contemplating, before flourishing in the full and triumphant finale of the album. In my opinion, not an album for dancing to, but an excellent album to listen to whilst sitting back with a glass of wine and losing yourself in your very own memoirs.
I have been a fan of Mariah Carey's since the begining, and this album is truly wonderful. Every track is excellent, my favorite track's are Obsesssed, Angels Cry and I Want to Know What Love Is. The booklet is somewhat unique as it is a mini magazine.
Considering Mariah debuted in 1990 almost 20years ago (aged 20) not only does she look gorgeous (with a little help from our friends the surgeons and the photoshop pros) but she sounds sweet as ever.
Some nice catchy tunes and as always great vocal production. But as good as this album is, i'm not blown away.
She really did a good job of e=mc2 especially how she keeps keeping up with current styles and this latest album proves she can continue to do that, but shes starting to blend into everybody else with this album.
I have been a fan of Mariah since day 1 when i was a little girl singing into a hairbrush and think she has made some of the most memorable songs of all time, and i also had the pleasure of seeing her live on tour and watching her film her newest video for 'obsessed' in NYC- but i find myself forgetting the rest of the songs after ive heard them.
Come on Mariah, gimme a special edition with bonus tracks and remixes to fill the void!
I'll still buy every album as she is the best singer/songwriter of all time xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
