I used to be a fan of Catatonia back in the day and when I noticed that Cerys Matthews had a new single out I thought I'd give it a try, I was very pleasantly surprised!

The song has a very lush, contempory cinematic sound and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I downloaded it! (I also came back and downloaded the 2 other songs which are both also very very good in their own right)

I hear she has a new album out next week and cannot wait to hear it, if this single is anything to go by then it is going to be a very popular release this year!

If you like the idea of a song with a sweeping melody that takes you on a beautiful stroll then back home again, then Arlington Way is the one for you. It has an almost timeless quality about it and would not be out of place on a film soundtrack. I'm always surprised by Cerys' new songs - I can't even begin to predict will come next.The one thing that remains the same is that unmistakable voice and the passion behind it. If you love it you love it forever and if you don't, well in my opinion you need your head checked!
Don't be put off downloading the Welsh version if you don't speak the language. It gives the song a whole new dimension.
Look out for the album 'Don't Look Down' next week, which is making history with its simultaneous release in both English and Welsh.
