This is an admittedly biased review, from a long term fan, but California 37 is nevertheless another fantastic piece of work from Train. I wish they'd come to Ireland...
Do not usually write reviews - but this is one of those albums you can just sit and listen to, you don't have to be driving; you don' t have to be painting a wall, or with other people to enjoy this. You can just sit down, put headphones in and listen
Having followed Train since "Drops of Jupiter" and also enjoying their recent Hyde Park performance, I was shocked at the lack of bite and originality in this latest album. "Save me San Francisco" was a classic and rates in my Top 10 of the last 20 years! My wife and daughter love " Drive by" and I kept it in my car multiplayer for a week to satisfy them but generally, this album is a great disappointment and more like Lead Vocalist Pat's solo project than a Train Album.
I have always quite liked Train and this album has done nothing to change my mind. In fact this is probably their best album to date, its catchy, upbeat, fun. If you want an album for driving, sitting in the house with background music or out in the garden with friends for a barbie then this album will fit the bill. Couple of songs have had a decent amount radio play but in truth all the songs could have!! Under a fiver too!!
This album should make you want to revisit there previous work!!
Great album - Only heard the single, liked that so brought the album and am very pleased I did. :)
