Buy this album you wont be disappointed, she is a fresh breath of air. Her voice and phrasing is stand out and her song writing is excellent seen her live and she is as great live as she is on the albums, A band named Thunder wrote a song about her after seeing her do a select performance before she was signed called the Girls alright, she is more and she proves it

I heard that this album has sold over 3.5 million copies. Considering some of the dross that sells in ridiculous numbers, like 50 cent and Eminem, I would have thought KT would have sold more albums. The girl is a genius.

There is not a bad song on this album. The standout track for me has to be "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree". It is an absolute delight to listen to. I know this is meant to be a review of her music but it doesn't go unnoticed that KT is drop dead gorgeous!!! lol

This has to be one of the best album's ive brought, i only brought the album for the song "suddenly i see" but every song is great and i sont skip any songs, shame i havent seen her do any more songs i would totally recommend!

After hearing 'Suddenly I see,' I decided I would have to purchase this album, thinking most of the songs would be just as upbeat. One or two are, such as 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree,' but otherwise I would describe them as more calm and certainly less upbeat.

But I still like them. Very much indeed in fact. This is one of the few albums I have ever been able to listen to the whole of without having to skip the odd song because of how dire it is. None of the songs are too distracting from whatever you are doing and they are wonderful in helping you relax. Great for putting on in the background.
If that's the type of music you like, give it a go!

The first I heard of KT Tunstall was from the first two singles released from this album: 'Other Side Of The World' and 'Suddenly I See' both of which are the most "mainstream" songs on this album. As such, they are also the least representative of the much greater vocal and musical abilities which KT Tunstall has to offer the less pop-inclined listener.

I bought the album on the strength of one song in particular: the unfathomably excellent 'Black Horse And the Cherry Tree' which, for me, has come to represent the qualities which tippify what I most enjoy about KT Tunstall's work (and performances which I have seen since):

This album features some very slick production which provides some great depth and range to the sound across the album. As I mentioned though, for me, the real gems on this album appear when the production is (or at least appears to be) stripped back somewhat. The sensational 'Black Horse And The Cherry Tree', 'Miniature Disasters', 'Stoppin' The Love', 'Heal Over' and 'Through The Dark' are my favourite examples of this. This is not to say, however, that the more slickly produced songs are in any way inferior; 'Another Place To Fall' and 'Universe & U', for example, are both real treats.

Many people will be familiar with KT Tunstall for the song 'Suddenly I See' which got a lot of radio play. It is far and away my least favourite song on the album and I can never escape the feeling that it is actually some kind of Texas or Katrina & The Waves number that snuck in through the back door some how. Fortunately, for me, it is in no way representative of the rest of an album which showcases song-writing and musicianship coupled with the kind of truly amazing and awe-inspiring voice rarely produced within these shores. The tracks which seem to bring her and her musicians and their collective sound to the fore, pushing the occasionally over-slick production to the back, really show off just how accomplished a performer KT Tunstall can be. More of this please!
