This album is totally amazing. It took me a while to get into it but when i did i really did, i'm actually likeing it more than their first album at the mo. You gotta listen to the drum beat n the lyrics in the tune "Do me a favour i think that song is amazing. I LOVE every track on the whole album, it is a must hav and i dont think any1 should hav it missing from their CD rack. 5 out of 5 no question about it.

well, i'm very happy they have proved to have been worth the hype around their first album. although this album sounds very different, and this may disappoint a lot of their first-hour fans, this album is certainly as good as 'whatever people....'. yes it is. considering their age, you simply can't expect that these guys will be doing the same thing over again. if they're good, they'll continue to re-invent themselves again and again.... and you will love it... or not. (listen to U2, do they still sound the same as on their first album.... i don't think so)
i like it! yeah!

Having owned this album since it came out, I've tried many a time to get into Favourite Worse Nightmare having loved Arctic Monkeys previous offering, but everytime I listen to this, I can't help but feel let down. The only track that really stands out is Brainstorm, but that aside, there are no tracks that excite like I Bet That You Look Good On The Dance Floor, Mardy Bum and View From The Afternoon.

There are some decent tracks. Flourescent Adolescent and Room 505 are pretty decent, as is Teddy Picker, but overall, they all fail to live long in the memory. At the moment, the Arctics are the media darlings, they can do no wrong, and this was apparent in many of the media reviews of Favourite Worse Nightmare. But what happens when their bubble bursts? If they come up with another average album like this then their time in the spot like could be over, which would be a shame as I feel the Arctic Monkeys are a band with true potential. Lets just hope their next offering is better.

A great album! Although needs time to get used too! Once you roughly know the melodies and perhaps some of the Lyrics.. you find yourself humming the tunes all day!! If you like the unique style to the Arctic Monkeys, then it is definitely a must have! Songs like " Florescent Adolescent", "Old Yellow Bricks" and "Teddy Picker" are amazing!! 5 out of 5!! Finally a band that can sustain quality!

You do have to look at this album from a particular perspective to enjoy it. One of the burdens that come with having the top selling UK debut album ever is that the follow up is incredibley difficult to do well. The Arctic Monkeys have definitely changed their sound, almost matured it. The first 4 tracks do reflect this, creating a fast paced 'garage' sound that are much more 'moshing' styled. But, cleverly the Monkeys have indeed gone back to their honest but clever, Sheffield sound that their debut achieved so well. Possibley the best track on the album; 'Fluorescent Adolescent' is such a mover and reminds everyone why they got to the top. 'Only Ones who know' also shows a level of maturity that the band have grown away from 'Whatever they say...' 'This house is a circus' and 'If you were there...' also shows a garage type influence with echoed lyrics/guitar and fast tempo. The last two tracks also show a different side to the band;
'Old Yellow Bricks' is a stomping hit and '505' closes the album with a bang using clever lyrics and an immense build up. This is definitely a must have for '07 but don't expect anything sounding from the debut.

A brilliant album. Unlike most albums all songs are worth listening to and they definately deserved their BRIT awards. Great music and again there are no average songs on this album, so well worth its money.

Top quality album! Better than the first in terms of the amount of quality songs, though there are only a couple of stand-out songs - 'Teddy Picker' and 'Fluorescent Adolescent' - just as there was in 'Whatever you Say I am...' Really good sound, excellent lyrics - you must listen to the words as they are witty, clever and meaningful; they make the song better, and passion-filled vocals. This might seem somewhat anachronistic, but the album appears timeless, the songs will never age and always be relevant. This could have been made in the Seventies or Eighties as easily as it could today.

This band has really come into their own with great lyrics and musical stylings. There is nothing really hooky here, but it's still fun to listen to.
