This review refers to
Sirenian Shores (CD version).
The Sirenian Shores EP consists of 2 remixes, a cover track (Leonard Cohen) and 2 entirely new tracks.
First We take Manhattan is actually not a bad cover track, but still doesn't feel like a real Sirenia track. This is the one track that is a little odd to have been including on the EP.
Save Me From Myself and Meridian are both remixed, and although they are quite good they aren't better than the originals and therefore aren't by any means a must for anyone but collectors.
The title track is one of the new tracks and a great one as well. Obire Mortem is an instrumental track. It's okay, but nothing special.
I would recommend this record if it can be obtained at a reasonable price (approx. £7). For more it might seem like a rip-off, because there isn't a lot of new stuff here. Also, buy At Sixes And Sevens and An Elixir For Existence first, before you get this one.
