I only found Tom Baxter about 6 months ago. I wish I had found him before that. His music is the sort of stuff to get lost in. The words are meaningful and his voice so full of emotion......just wonderful!! If you are sensitive to others feelings, this is the one for you!

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favour .....listen with relish

They say thatsome albums grow on you - some just never do. They also say that you need to be 'in the mood' to listen to some albums. Well with 'Skybound' - no matter what te 'mood' - thuis gets it done! I first reviewed this album some months ago now on another site - if anything now, I find the sentiments of my original review (below) even more appropraite!!

This is an excellent album of contempory 'love songs' spanning the new, the old and the lost loves that we all ponder.

Powerful in the extreme, Tom Baxters lyrics capture effortlessly the emotions that infect each and every one of us in lifes' struggles with 'love'. For me the album spoke for my 'love lost' - it is never truer to say that in this album I found with each track, a new love song to make me think of Angela.

Go on, give up those tears and fears and hopes and let this gentle man wash over you - it is what he does best - has he really been to 'hell' and back' - I wonder - but doesn't he just catch the moment, just so !!

For a special woman - Angela.

Very talented, i'm very dubious about new "talent" at the moment because i'm afraid that alot of new "bands" are starting to sound the same, however this one blew me out the water. would very much recommend and advise for maybe a nice chilled out summer evening.

I bought this after hearing a track on Radio 2. There's not one bad song and the more I listen, the more I love it. I bought his first album afterwards, and it's very good, but I still prefer Skybound.

I bought this on seeing a tv advert and so glad I did an absolute pleasure to listen to evoking emotions and thoughts of summer laid back evenings. Vocals a hint of Dave Matthews but still great. Vocals and instrumentals blend beautifully together. Sit back and enjoy!

After hearing 'Better' I was looking forward to listening to the rest of the album, how disapointed I was and it is quite evident why 'better' was the first track to be released as a single, The rest of the album bears no resemblance and most of the tracks all blend into one. I can't see any of the other tracks having any success.

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Very disappointing

I loved his first album - because it had TUNES! I don't understand why everyone's raving about this album - it's okay but nothing special at all. It seems he's more interested in rambling "aren't-I-brooding-and-deep" lyrics over endlessly repeating riffs than creating well-structured songs.

In the sleevenotes he calls the songs 'emotional canvases' - I'd prefer memorable melodies, myself. A couple of 'emotional canvases' is fine (the last two tracks on Feather & Stone could be described like that), but a whole album of them is somehow exhausting and boring at the same time.

I actually found the album very depressing - the best songs are (unsuprisingly) the uplifting ones like Better and Lift Me Up. This album is more about atmosphere than tunes, which isn't nessecarily a bad thing if that's your taste, but I for one felt quite let down by it. Buy his amazing first album, but listen to this one before you buy.

Toms first solo album was stunning, I played it to death, intense vocal, great songs, sung from the heart. Got early release of this and listened with great anticipation and he has not let us down. Apparently changed record labels as his previous label wanted him to go down the James Blunt, James Morrison route! We are all very glad he didn't!

...This is a brilliant album! I went by what the previous reviewers said about this and trusted them and I am glad I did - The CD has not left my cd player since it came out the case!
I've never heard of this guy before but this is a great chillout album.

After listening to this album many times, I also got my hands on the previous album 'Feather and Stone' which is also a must have if you enjoy this.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars If you buy 1 album in 2008 - make it this 1!

A review of this album can only be a list of superlatives - it is stunning, breathtaking, inspired, emotional, powerful, brilliant - I could go on.

Tom Baxter deserves to be a star.

& you must go & see him live. Absolutely superb.

His new single 'Better' is quite simply, a perfect love song. (& has now become mine, & soon, thousands of other couples' 'our song').

Check out 'Feather & Stone' - Tom's first album - it's also a killer.
