This album was from Mark 3, and we all wondered what it would bring.
It turned out to be a refreshed DP with a hungry Coverdale on vocals. Months earlier he had been selling clothes in a boutique in the North. Hughes added more of a punchy bass and some new soul.
Burn was, and is, an exciting album that truly was on fire and formed the basis of the live set of MK3.
Whilst 2008 DP have reverted to more or less the MK2 lineup and set list, you have to catch Hughes on tour to hear any of this album exposed live.
