I stumbled on this album after hearing Soldier of Fortune (from this CD) on an internet radio station, stopping in my tracks, listening open mouthed, my jaw on the floor, my heart in my mouth, and a big ass lump in my throat.
I was a big fan of early Whitesnake (late 70's / early 80's) when they were more of a blues rock band as opposed to the big hair rockers most people identify with now.
1980's Live In The Heart Of The City has long remained one of my favourite live albums, but this is a stunning companion and while I missed it first time round, it doesn't really matter 'cause this is timeless stuff.
Uplifting, heartbreaking and truly beautiful, Coverdale and Vandenberg are both incredible on this recording - Coverdale's vocals remain among rock's best ever, a fact underlined by this performance.
Fast becoming my all time favourite 'Unplugged' album and a true classic.

Simply the very best 'unplugged' style album, EVER. David Coverdale's lucious voice, backed up by Adrian Vandenburg's sensational acoustic 6-string is the nearest you will ever get to raw beauty on a CD.
One voice, one guitar, no effects, just two stunning musicians doing something a little off the wall for what would normally be a rocking, rolling, testosterone-fuelled bluesy thunder.
Simple, awesome, gorgeous, brilliant. This is a MUST HAVE album for people of all musical tastes. The blues laden ballads will haunt your ears to the extent you shun all other tracks in favour of this when wanting something mellow.
