Effortless is the word i would use to describe this album, and I shall try to justify why as I write this review.

I never used to listen to Goldfrapp much, I mean, of course, I liked Ooh La La, and Number 1, but ask me any of their other song titles, and I would have been lost. So, you know the story, someone sends you a link on youtube, you give it a listen, and normally just straight disagree with what your friend thinks 'just to be awkward'. But no! What's this, A & E, a song I like, damn my friend and his taste. So, on a spur, I download an album, going on one song (not something I had done since I downloaded News & Tributes by Futureheads, not something that encouraged me to do it more often).

And in truth, this is a great album. Well, to a point. If it was a classic, you would be seeing five stars, no doubt, and with a few changes, only a few, it may have been so. To find negatives in this album, is to try to find reasons you don't love one type of ice cream over… more »

And in truth, this is a great album. Well, to a point. If it was a classic, you would be seeing five stars, no doubt, and with a few changes, only a few, it may have been so. To find negatives in this album, is to try to find reasons you don't love one type of ice cream over another flavour you do love. This album has so much to it, but it falls short with maybe lacking some sort of development in certain songs. Although some songs do progress well, some leave you feeling that if you had just done a bit of editing on that track, it could be your favourite track ever.

But, really, it is hard to explain just why this album will never be your favourite album ever. Effortless is this album. It flows, effortlessly, it sounds as if it was written effortlessly, and it just works. It is like listening to a Saturday afternoon in your garden with the sun in your face as you close your eyes and remain awake, just remembering previous summers in the sun. It is beautiful, and well worth a listen. This CD could easily be one that is stuck in your player from now until November, no lie. And what else would take it's place? At the moment, not much. It is a great album, released with perfect timing, just before summer hits us all.

This will relax, and entertain you. I cannot reccomend it enough, it could easily be an album to remind you of a time you want to remember, or something along those lines =P Just get it, there is something for everyone here, who likes, oh I don't know, lazy Sundays. To test if you like it, I would reccomend trying to listen to Clowns, Road to Somewhere, A & E, and if you are feeling brave, Eat Yourself.
