This review refers to
Modern Guilt (CD version).
I have to say apart from his rather miscalculated step into trying to become a Soul man on Midnite Vultures, Beck has produced some really consistently good albums and this one is again no exception.
Modern Guilt features some more of Beck's highly catchy and enjoyable tracks, although the tone is a bit more sombre this time round there are still plenty of funky songs here to listen to. Some of my favs include "Gamma Ray" "Youthless" "Soul of a Man" "Profanity Prayers" and the title track "Modern Guilt" which is great. There are a couple of lesser tracks here aswell for which the sombre tone kind of let me cold, but overall this is another fine example of Beck doing what he does, making a really good quirky enjoyable genre-less album. I'll look forward to seeing what he'll do next (and hope he tours soon!).
