Every song on this album is memorable and catchy. Not a single song is boring or dull, they all match up to each other. Best band in ages.

Fantastic album that deserves as much credit as it can get

It is by far one of the best albums I've listened to in recent years. It's relaxing yet also addictive tracks such as Miles Davis and the Cool, Heres looking at you kid, Great Expectations and many more will have you hooked on this superb indie band. This band deserves as much kudos as other popular indie acts such as The Killers. In my opinion, at this price, you really can't go wrong. A must buy.

     One of the best albums...ever.

I was first hooked onto The Gaslight Anthem after hearing The '59 Sound on the Kerrang '08 album. I found myself unable to go on to the next song and just going back and listening again. I was so enamoured with the song I went out and got the album that weekend and I've not once regretted it.

All the other reviews here comparing their sound to The Boss are quite right - Bruce even performed The '59 Sound with the band during their set at Glastonbury this year. It's a blinding performance - if you can hunt it down, check it out.

All the songs on the album are great but I think my highlights would be Great Expectations, The '59 Sound, High Lonesome and The Backseat. This is an absolute bargain of an album - buy it, love it, spread the word.

This is pure americana rock that Bruce Springsteen would have been happy to put his name to. Even their song title's have a River or Nebraska soundalike. Old White Lincoln or The Patient Ferris Wheel anyone?? If you don't believe me, The '59 Sound is the best song Springsteen never wrote. And for 3.99 what you waiting for?????

     WOW......... Utter Class

This album... Its too good to try and describe by putting it into words. A must buy for everyone who wants to hear a stunning band who dont get enough recognition as they should. One of the best albums I have ever bought.
Personally, you should buy 2. One to use and another to frame and put up on the wall.
    BUY!!!!

i agree with most people on here that this album is one of the best albums of the year..fantastic catchy songs especially the title track...the reason i put it 3rd is because most people wont of heard of the group called 'The Boxer Rebellion' and their album titled 'Union' which was released in january on download only...but finally will be released on cd on sept 14th....when you hear it youll know why................oh the best album,in my opinion ......Placebo's..'Battle For The Sun'..........dont forget.T. B. R...you heard it hear first..

     Best album of the year

I cannot stop listening to this album. Heard their live performance from Glasto and thought they would be worth checking out. The album is fantastic. All of the tracks are so catchy but in fact the album gets better and better the more you listen. It is literally the best album I have bought for so long I love it!
