I agonised over whether to rate this album with four or five stars. Being a huge Maiden fan in general, and a particular fan of the three albums they have done since Bruce returned to the fold for Brave New World , I feel I should rate everything of theirs with maximum marks. However, if a review is worth doing, then it should take into account everything and, for me, there are just two tracks which don't quite measure up to the rest (though still fairly decent) which are Montsegur and Gates of Tomorrow. Everything else is just awesome though, from the shorter, punchier tracks like Wildest Dreams, Rainmaker and New Frontier through to the epics like No More Lies, Dance of Death and the unbelievably powerful Paschendale. And as an album closer Journeyman is one of their best ever. If ever I wanted to rate an album with 4.75 stars then this is it. This is my favourite of the three original Maiden albums since the Return of the King (King Bruce, of course). The songs just sound more like 'Maiden', if you understand what I mean. and immediately I've picked out the ones I love, especially the epic 'Journeyman'. Definitely worth it from here for this price!
I went to see the tour of this album and loved it. Every song on this album is memorable and that to me is a classic album. Maiden in their element again may there be many more albums.
