The title says it all this is an album for a different class. Not "COMMON PEOPLE". What an album. Jarvis you r the king of pop. You are a great vocialist and singer who should be awarded for your talent and opinions. Gr8 stuff. If I could give it more than 5stars I bloody would. All brillant tracks especially Comman People, Live Bed Show and Something Changed. But I mean all the tracks are brill. Absolutly speachless. What a guy. X

Pulp's 5th studio album is nothing short of a masterpiece of performance pop. It rrepresents in my opinion the culmination of over 10yrs of honing their sound to create something that is all at once innovative, original and unmistakebly northern. The breathy delivery of I Spy, the atmospheric build up of FEELING CALLED LOVE and the pure, honest pop of Something Changed lend it an air of peaceful unease and contrasting optimism. As ever Jarvis is lyrically sharp and the band provide an epic backdrop for his wry tales and dark confessions. There isn't a weak track on this record and it has more than stood the test of time since it's release now 12 years ago (seriously?). It is titled correctly.

I've loved this album since 1995, it has the songs people are going to be familiar with such as Common People and Disco 2000. You can't go wrong with it, its a great album, I love Jarvis' voice and style such as using emphasis where it isn't needed and his story telling is just fantastic.
