Hailing from Stockholm, Dismember's various incarnations have left a trail of death metal recordings dating back to 1991 and their debut Like An Ever Flowing Stream. It was the delightful Skin Her Alive track from this opening salvo that landed the band in the middle of an obscenity trial in the UK. The lyrics were described at the time as 'hideous, frightful and repulsive to the senses...liable to inspire a sense of violence to the listener'. Common sense prevailed and the case came to nothing but publicity like that never harmed a heavy metal act.
