i actually went to the 'monster ball tour' in sheffield, and it was exactley the same as this!!!! .. i also watched it on sky1, when it premiered.. and i fealt like i was there again :) - lady gaga is none comparable; yes she may be very ecentric ,just like madonna !was! but lady gaga has taken it to a whole new level .. also, she write's every single song .. she doesn't steal songs, or have writers .... like madonna has admitted to doing!! but this show is amzing .. 5* without a doubt!! BUY IT,, BUY IT!!!!!!! also; and i can't wait for the ''born this way tour to get on the road :) .. let the gay entertainment start allover again :)
This DVD is a quite good all around concert movie. The show's only downfall is that certain segments are cut out to save time, most notably the start of Dance in the Dark which is thrown straight into the second verse.
The behind the scenes stuff is good, albeit a little predictable for GaGa and reminiscent of Madonna's documentary, and could have had much more included, but the stage show is similar to Madge only in aspects of homage, not as a rip-off as many are trying to claim.
Expect 100% live singing for every song, mixes of fast-paced dance tracks and slow piano and stadium rock ballads, and most of all the insane theatricality that made this tour the success it was. There's no denying this woman is entertaining to watch...
Hmmmm, this show does feel like a mish-mash of Madonna's previous tours but not in a good way! Although I think Lady Gaga is extremely talented individual, her show lacks any class and the back staged action looks like a direct rip-off of Madonna's "Truth or Dare" documentary or In Bed With Madonna as in the UK.
Her younger fan's seem to get annoyed by the Madonna comparison but it's always apparent with her. Plus you only have to look at Madonna's past videos, tours, performances etc. All the evidence is there!
This being said, Lady Gaga is a great singer & performer. Her message on the whole is a positive one, though for me sometimes she feels a little forced. But she is a breath of fresh air in the music industry today and not like everyone else.
The dvd is worth a look, and has some really good moments!
I went to see her show in New York City in July 2010 and it was the same show as this, minus Born This Way. She has performed this show over hundreds of concerts and it really shows... it is tired, stale and too rehearsed. There's nothing spontaneous about it. Maybe she'll let herself go in a few years and we'll see the real Lady GaGa, but for now we just have to put up with the commercial/corporate version.
lady gaga is the best at what she does
i went to see her in liverpool and it brings back the memorys of how great she is
