I had never seen this film before, so bought it more in hope than expectation. I was very impressed with what I found. The much-underrated Sandor Eles is hugely and mysteriously attractive and very effective as the enigmatic stranger in pursuit of the two female leads - who are themselves very likeable and believable in their roles. The atmosphere of the film is first-class, helped by a fine musical score. The increasing contrast between ordinary, everyday normality and something strange and unsettling is very appealing. Tension is built and built. The colour of the film is also splendid. I really felt I was "there" in the forest and other locations. The only disappointment for me personally was that I guessed "who-done-it" a good 10 minutes before I should have done! But don't let that put you off. If you like suspenseful thrillers - and attractive, highly competent lead actors and actresses - you will probably like this film. It deserves to be more famous. I keep going back to it.… more »
