Queen: Live in Rio 1985

Customer rating on Queen: Live in Rio 1985: 2 out of 5 stars ( 2 customer ratings )

Review

Few bands have polarized the rock music business quite like Queen. While some critics rejected the quartet as over the top bombast rockers, fans loved their clever arrangements, guitarist Brian May's metal extravaganzas, but particularly the sexy ways and unique voice of energetically charismatic singer Freddie Mercury, Queen's front man for 21 years.

Thankfully, zero varnish has been added to the raw sound on these live recordings from 1985, making this drumfire of hits charmingly rough around the edges. Queen's red-hot monster light show is as awe-inspiring as ever, even some twenty years later.

The sound is horrible (didn't sound like stereo) and it seems that the people that edited the video have forgotten that John Deacon is a member of Queen. In other words, there was hardly any footage of him. Another bad point was that during the whole concert, on the top left hand corner of the screen there was some dumb MP logo (they're the ones that made the DVD). Bad quailty. Buy it only if you're a die hard Queen fan AND find it for really cheap.
