Even though it is one of the world's lightest netbooks in its 10.2" class, weighing just 1.33kg with a powerful 6 cell battery, the NC10's innovative design is packed with the latest technology for maximum mobility and productivity. It also incorporates a range of practical features, like a normal-size, ergonomic notebook PC style keyboard, to simplify life on the move.

Class leading craftsmanship
A class leading design built to fit in with people's fast-paced and digitally interconnected lives, so you can do even more on the move - and still look good! The superb look and feel of its slim and elegant chassis is accentuated with a choice of colours and haptic styling.

An integrated 1.3 mega pixel digital motion camera makes it easier than ever to keep in touch with friends and family, using video-conferencing or live messaging. The camera combines the resolution and image quality of a still camera with the sustained high frame rates of a video camera.

'Normal' keyboard
Incorporates a normal-size, notebook PC style keyboard, for easy typing. Its ergonomic design and optimised key spacing make working and communicating a much more pleasurable and productive experience, with fewer errors and faster typing speeds.

Intel Atom processor
Incorporating Intel's smallest and lowest power processor, the Intel Atom processor, which is specifically designed to deliver an amazing Internet experience using netbooks. Based on an entirely new micro architecture, the Intel Atom processor increases energy efficiency to extend battery life, while delivering enhanced mobile performance and increased system responsiveness.

Fully featured for simple data sharing
Enables simple data sharing with a host of advanced connectivity tools, including a 3 in 1 memory card reader (SD, SDHC, MMC), 3 built-in USB ports, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR* (Enhanced Data Rate), so you can easily transfer pictures, movies and data to and from virtually any modern camera, peripheral or audio-visual device.

10.2" Widescreen LED display
The NC10's 10.2" widescreen display is optimised to deliver a seamless visual experience on netbook and by using LED technology means that the screen is thinner, up to 33% brighter, and uses much less power than traditional LCD screens. Even the durability of the system is better, because there are fewer breakable parts.

Anti-bacterial Keyboard
Uses Silver Nano Technology to coat the keyboard with incredibly small, nano-sized silver ion powder, which makes it impossible for bacteria to live and breed. So, 99.9% of bacteria are successfully eliminated within 24 hours and the netbook remains bacteria free for even longer, creating a more hygienic personal computing environment.

 Samsung NC10

The NC10 is Samsung's entry into the netbook market. Its specs are nothing too surprising, 1.6GHz Intel Atom, 1GB ram, 10" screen at 1024x600. It does have a large hard drive of 160GB, which sets it apart from the usual low capacity SSD drives that adorn many of the other brands models. Its major difference is the "Nano Silver Coating" on the keyboard which is meant to kill bacteria.

The chassis is sturdy and well made. Little features add to the feeling of luxury, the silver band that runs around the case, the neat blue lit power button hidden on the side and the pearlescent paint. Connection-wise the NC10 comes well equipped, 3 USB ports, LAN, VGA, microphone and headphone sockets. On the front there is an SD card slot, however the card does stick out a little from the case, would have been nice to have seen it flush with an ejection mechanism. You also get wi-fi and bluetooth connections from mobile internet. The track pad is extremely small and has no real feedback as to when you have gone off of it, as it lies flush with the case. That said, after switching on some of the features of the Synatpics pad it isn't bad and you do get used to it. Where the NC10 excels is with its battery life. Just general use on the internet/word-processing can easily see 5 hours of computing. Maybe not up to the 7 hour claims from Samsung, but still very impressive. Actually the 7 hours may be achieved however I would think that you would need to run at the lowest brightness setting and switch the processor to its slower speed (silent mode).

In use the Atom performs well, it runs all the things that you would want from an internet browsing device. As the NC10 uses Windows XP it feels quite speedy. Its keyboard is of a very usable size, about 92% of normal. Also it has a double height enter key which makes typing much easier. The screen is fantastic, extremely bright (at full brightness) and goes to show you don't need to have a shiny screen to make a good screen. It is pleasant to look at and read from, although the limited vertical resolution means that you may have to scroll more then on a larger screen. Above the screen is the 1.3mp camera. The images are clear and the built in microphone does a good job at picking up my voice when talking to a friend using MSM Live.

For the price this is the best netbook yet. You get a great little machine that is set apart from the rest by its large hard drive and remarkable battery life. It is cheaper then the MSI Wind, its closest rival and while more expensive then some of the other models out there, is well worth the extra for its battery life alone. At 1.3kg it is light and portable, but with a big enough screen to be usable on a daily basis. The manufactures would like us to believe that these netbooks are a second machine to a larger computer/laptop. I disagree, the NC10 is all the laptop that I need and ideal for people on the move, for students or someone looking for a small (comparatively) powerful laptop computer.

Build quality is great and I'm pleased I went for this netbook in the end over the EeePC 1000(H).

+ Excellent large keyboard
+ Battery life is great, I've been getting around 6 hours use.
+ It's faster than expected, its become my main machine now.
+ Multi-tasking is fine, I've been using photoshop, dreamweaver and running a wamp server on it with little slowdown.
+ There is very little bloatware installed when it arrives.
+ Lovely screen
+ Very light weight
+ Huge 160GBB HDD is extremely handy
+ Surprisingly I've been able to play some old/casual games like Half-life 1 and Peggle with decent frame rates.
+ Easy access to the RAM if you want to upgrade to RAM to 2GB (which is currently £17.99 on play.com).

(Picky) Negatives
- Not the best trackpad, there's little tactile feedback for when you leave the pad and start touching the case (but you quickly become aware of the limits and not notice it anymore)
- The travel case has no button down on the cover, but its handy for protecting the netbook whilst its in your bag (it won't protect your system if you drop it etc).

Overall it's a great netbook and in my opinion beats all the netbooks currently out there. At £299 it was an absolute bargain, sad to see the price has gone up to £329 in most places, but still worth the money.

I just got mine 2 days ago, i ordered a black nc10 but got a white one but it was soo good that i just kept the white one! For such a small device it sure does pack a punch!
Additionally to the specs, you can adjust the cpu speed to save power! I have loaded office 2007, visual studio and in the process of installing some games!
Btw office & vs run like clock work, very smooth jus like im runnung my ordinary laptop!
The battery life is also outstanding, i used it a whole day (on and off), listening to music, videos and it still was on around 38% (thats about 2hrs remaining!) i won't need to charge this little beast for a while! 1.3Mp webcam & bluetooth aswel!
Overall im more than happy with this netbook, in my opinion its beyond the specs of the msi wind, far beyond!

Conclusion ....get one!

 The best Netbook yet

Received mine (white model) on Nov 6th, after thinking it was out of stock. Must say, its a great machine. Keyboard is big enough, screen is bright and good size. Battery is amazing; 5 hours plus so far and still juice left. The 160gb hard drive and fast chip makes this an good replacement for my old laptop. Configuration to wireless was effortless.

Nothing to say other than, well worth the money and after trying an eeePc plus getting a close view of the Acer, this is by far the best machine around today.

Worth a shot if you're thinking of getting one.

 Great Netbook

First off it looks great and functions well. The 1.6ghz Intel Atom cpu won't break any records but is surprisingly capable for a low-power chip, just stay away from video editing and HD movies etc. 1GB RAM comes installed which does the job however it is easily upgradeable if you want that extra boost. 2GB RAM can be bought for under £20. The 10" screen at 1024x600 is big enough for web surfing and word processing. It's not ideal for working with big image files, pdf files etc however the VGA output allows you to connect to an external screen if needs be. The keyboard is nice and easy to use and the touchpad though small does the job.

All in all a Great little machine!
