ARCHOS 7 Android Home Tablet V2 8GB

I had tried an ipad which I thought was good but a bit too large for carrying around so I thought I would try the smaller Archos tablet. What did I want to use it for? Viewing films, reading books, listening to music, accessing the internet plus anything thing else that might crop up. So, you open the box and there is your Archos - first impression is a nice looking sleek piece of kit. When you handle it, it feels well made. Switch on, it powers up and away you go. After getting used to the touch screen, I found the best way to move around the screen was to press quite hard and then slide your fingers which the screen then follows. A quick tap increases the magnification. After getting used to this I can now navigate around quite well. So down to the practical part. Watching films - excellent. Listening to music - excellent. Reading books - excellent. Internet access - logged onto my wireless network first time and gives a quick response on page loading times. Most of my regular websites seem to be stripped down versions - I will need to do a bit more work here. Battery life isn't too bad, I think it could be a little better - just my opinion - and that is why I have given it a 4 star. So far it has done everything I want it to do, and has done it very well. There are plenty of apps that you can customise according to taste. So overall a pretty good piece of kit, less pricey than an ipad but more portable.
