Seagate Expansion 500GB 2.5 inch External Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive

This is a super drive, I have ran it over several pc's including win 2000 it works greeat. Installs without a problem from 2000 to vista, not tried on win 7. Super quite.
Only downside, like most external drives. is the AC adaptor & usb lead making them less portable, more bits to carry.
With out doubt if you wont an excellent removeable drive at this capacity this is the drive

I am so impressed with this Hard Drive (Im going to order another 2/3 of them) What I love first of all is the fact that there are NO power leads so your not trying to find somewhere to plug it in. It simply plugs into the USB and off it goes. I find it so quiet and fast too. Wether you want it for your laptop or PC, its perfect and I would recommend it 1,000%

I originally hard the larger version of this hard drive that had to be plugged in to a socket. Got this one as a gift and haven't looked back, there's so much more freedom with it plugging directly into my laptop and its tiny. It works fine with windows 7.

My old review is now moot, because 4 months after buying this seemingly flawless item, and it now doesn't work.
Plug it in and it won't power up at all, it is dead. Tried different usb ports and cables, different computer, but no life.
Maybe mine was an isolated case, but I'm letting everyone know that not all units are perfect, and its happened too late to return, but too early to feel like I've had my moneys worth, and £50 is hard to ignore.....

I bought the HD and thought to myself wow under 50 pounds. Little did I know the problems that lay ahead. I bought mine in August and since then it has crashed twice...though each time I was able to recover my data, at a cost of course. All I am saying is beware of this HD...can be a potential nightmare...especially the USB port its like glass.
