5 Does great job, feels solid. Shame win Vista isn't the same.Thetrigger | 13/10/2009 | See all Thetrigger's reviews (1)Bought this to put my 60gb Hdd from my PS3. Fast delivery easy to put together and feels really sturdy. Supplied with usb cable with one plug one end and double other end although yo only need one either end. Cable is about 2 and half foot long. OK on Laptop but might be short for Desk tower. Ok so I Plug it into my Laptop and Vista loads the driver automatically then.....NOTHING. Windows does not show any external drive connected. The instruction book (slip of paper) is a little difficult to follow (poor traslation) but I work out that the drive needs formating. Look up on net how to do this on Vista. Start process but the format wizard on XP will only let me format NTFS. I was hoping to use the drive to transfer files to my PS3.The PS3 only recognises drives formatted Fat or Fat32. Again look on Net to find out Vista will only format drives over 32gb as NTFS. Other versions of Windows will format any drive size upto 1TB as FAT32 or NTFS as the user requires. Apparently there are programs available which get around this but they sounded hit and miss. To get around the problem I partitioned the drive and formated 16 gb as fat 32 and the rest as NTFS. As the PS3 cannot see the NTFS partition it is easy to copy files off the Fat 32 partition. Not the most elegant solution but it works. I have backed up my music and photos onto the NTFS side and transferred a few movies onto My PS3 with the Fat32.This is not the fault of the caddy but thought I'd let people know in case they were going to buy it to transfer to PS3 or got the caddy and thought it was broken when it did not show in windows. I'm not a computer whizz so it took some figuring out. I thought it might help others to know before hand.Overall Caddy 10/10.
