A basic enclosure, good enough for the cash.

Not much to say about this one except that the one delivered was different than the one pictured. It's a flat-sided case with 'Dynamode' stamped on the side in black.

The internal chassis is made from remarkably cheap plastic and one of the screws was malformed, but once assembled it feels solid enough. Possibly not suited to more than occasional use since it lacks a fan, but fine for backups and archiving.

With a choice of SATA or IDE connections - cabling is supplied for either option - you can't really go wrong at this price for occasional use.

If you're not familiar with these products though and will need to consult the manual, look elsewhere. The instruction leaflet that came with this is written in indecipherably poor English and advises that, for example, "when you whop the device without according the practices aboved .there a warning message showed that if u whop it without stopping it this may cause your computer to crash or lose some value data"

I brought 2, one just wouldn't work and the other turns itself on and off randomly and has now ruined a brand new hd. The harddrives barely fit in the case itself the manufacturing is that poor, the power cable has to be bent to get the hd in. Avoid like you would the plague.

 Cheap And Nasty!

Don't get this thinking you are saving money, because you are just endangering your data. Mine just gave up and refused to work on the third time I used it, most likely because the ac adapter failed. The build quality is bad, with no thought given to haet build up, and it does even have a drive activity light! Avoid!

Mine worked fine "plug and play" with mac, XP and ubuntu. Used several different drives in it without problems. Only minor snag is that power plug to enclosure is not a particularly tight fit.
