I have been on the verge of buying a new laptop just to be able to edit HD video files. I have been using X3 for about a week now on my 2.2 dual core and NVidia 8600mGT graphics card. I am pleased to report that it works fine. It is still a little slow, but it is useable - the Adobe and Pinnacle options will not run on my machine.
Its cheaper than a new laptop and it works well. Download the trial. You get the full programme for a month to try, so you can make up your own mind!
