VHS to DVD 5.0 HD Video Conversion Software

Firstly I use Windows 7 64bit on a Dell Studio 17 with an i7 processor and 4 gigs of ram. I've only copied vhs tapes to wmv formats and dvds. I've had no real problems but don't know how this performs on old pcs.

I've used this to convert old vhs films I made to wmv format and store them on my pc. Despite the products name you don't have to burn them on to DVD (in advanced mode). You run the tape in the vcr which is connected by the hardware to the pc. You open the software and select the settings you want to capture at then press record. The video plays on your pc. Once the video has finished, stop recording and trim the video to the correct length and add tiles transitions etc if you want to. Converting the file takes about a quarter of the time of the video on my pc.

Pros:

Cons:
14:9 mode doesn't seem to work just creates wavy lines on recording. Not a problem I don't want to stretch 4:3 videos.

The editing options are limited. You can only trim clips bigger than 2 seconds so best to start recording a few seconds before the footage you want or you risk losing a few frames.

I was confused for a while as when you put a clip on the editing line it automatically adds a title and credits tile. You can delete these easily, but took me a while to realize and annoying that I have to do it every time.

Settings always revert to default settings every time you start program rather than staying on the settings you will always use.

Took 6 weeks to arrive from day I ordered.

The flaws are all minor the product works which is the main thing so I'm quite happy.
