Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 Black Pearl

I bought this Mouse about 10 months ago. I found it quite good at first. It was smooth,quite fast, good battery life and comfortable to use.
The reason I have given it 3 stars is because of a few reasons.

First, it not very good on quick action games, it cannot keep up very well with rapid fire and if you try to move fast then not much happens.
Second, its hard to find a mouse matt or any other type of suface the mouse likes. I bought a mouse matt designed for laser mouse's but my mouse pointer hardly moved. I ended up using a diary and its what I have always had to use.
Third, its seems like the signal is deteriating. Its not as good as it used to be. I use my mouse about 3 foot away from my computer and receiver, and I sometimes struggle geting my mouse to operate fully. I have tried different brands of battery and there's no improvement on more expensive batteries.

If you are like me and use a large screen HDTV and does not wish to sit 12 iches from the screen and wants to sit comfortably on his sofa, and loves quick action games then you dont want to buy this mouse.

Easy to extract from packaging, batteries supplied, no software to fiddle around with, no roller ball to pick-up the fluff and grime, up and working in less than five minutes. Fantastic and a good price!

This mouse is a great buy! As it is wireless, there are no messy cables. The range on it is also very good; it feels very good to hold! It also comes with a USB reicever port, so you can connect it with you computer in seconds! Brilliant mouse!

It isn't the prettiest.

You have to admit that.

The usb connector is very bulky but it is reliable, if you have a pc over a laptop then this a more reliable option. Laptop mice are on the small side and they are very hungry in terms of batteries. If you do own a pc then you tend to dedicate a desk to it and you can afford the luxury of the bulky adapter. I used my mouse at work for doing cad and it gives you control and precision. You will spot these in a few offices, and everyone else will still be using the standard Dell mouse that I.T gave them.

Loses a star for looks and the bulkiness of adapter, otherwise sound.

I have had this mouse for a while now and I have had no problems even on a wood surface. Although there can be problems if the surface is a bit rough (tea stains, dust, marks) causes the mouse to respond slowly. Overall its a nice looking mouse and its failrly cheap, i recommend this one.
