 Low Priced FPS Gaming Mouse!

The GM6900 optical mouse has the following DPI settings. 400 800 1200 1600 2000 2400 2800 and 3200, you can program your 3 favourite DPI settings into the mouse using the Gigabyte software. 2 buttons up top let you switch DPI settings in-game, red led's indicate which DPI setting is being used. The scroll wheel has left / right tilt, in games I like using the tilt function for quick weapon reloads. The finish on the GM6900 is a matt black plastic there is no rubber coating on the main body but it never feels slippery and looks quite nice with the Gigabyte lettering and silver side buttons. The side buttons are placed quite high but using them wasn't a problem. Directly below the side buttons is a rubberised thumb grip which your thumb falls naturally into, and is very comfortable (this mouse is for right handers only).

I have medium sized hands and really like the shape of the Gigabyte, its a little shorter in length than a Razer Deathadder, a little taller when viewed from the side, and a little wider at the front. It's also lighter @106 grams. Lift-off distance is lower on the Gigabyte mouse than on the Deathadder which suprised me. I think the GM6900 optical mouse is something of a bargain, it doesn't have the build quality of a Razer Deathadder, and the click action from the main buttons is not as positive, but it's 1/3rd of the price and a definite bargin for 15 pounds (GBP).

I purchased this product back in January for use with mmo's, rpg's and a few fps', in the hope that I was buying a cheap mouse capable of fulfilling the requirements of a semi hardcore gamer. I could never justify paying for 100 pound gaming equipment that honestly made little difference after a certain point, it's all down to human reactions and decision making time after all, and so this mouse seemed adequate. However adequate would be a gross understatement for this mouse, it's smooth, responsive, light, it has a decent cable length, it's obviously built to a budget, but it's sturdy and all the buttons are more than sensitive enough.
I'd recommend this mouse to anyone wanting to seriously game on a budget, for the price, it's a 5 star buy.
Oh and it looks pretty sweet too.

Best mouse I have ever owned

Having said that, I've only ever had cheap ones that cost around a fiver.

Definately a great buy, feels great and really makes the difference when gaming, LOVE IT!

Firstly I'd like to say that my friends have razer nagas and sidewinder x7s to pick out a couple, and this mouse is quite a bit larger than both of them, especially the razer, so if that's a factor you take into consideration and value highly. Seriously consider the Gigabyte.

The DPI is lower, but I struggle to find people who enjoy using their mouse at greater than 2800 DPI anyway and the acceleration is crisp and manageable. On top of that this has one increase and one decrease button for DPI instead of just a toggle to flick through the settings which is much better than other mice I've seen.

It is a bit of a handful to install and get setup on W7 64-bit, I'm not sure if it's just me, but if you struggle to install the firmware then you need to run as admin and use windows xp SP2 to install and that should work.

The only 2 let downs are that the side toggle buttons on the scroll are currently nonassignable, so why they are even there I do not know. Also knowing that it is cheaper and probably worse built than a 50+ pound mouse.

But so far I love it and it's smooth and comfortable as anything.
