I never bought the G15 Version 1 because i thought it looked very big & tacky.

So ive bought the G15 v2, what an amazing product.. yes they've removed some G keys so u only have 6 insted of 18, but theres buttons along the top for switching... so u press "M1" for 1 set of keys, press M2 for another & M3 for another.. so 3 * 6 = 18.

The screen i love, doesnt seem to be any compatibility issues from Version 1 & Version 2 screens when it comes down to applications... so id assume its the same size as the V1.

Its size is the main thing, its pretty much the same size as an adverage keyboard where as the V1 was very large.

Orange lighting is nice, blue i admit would have been better as everything i have on my desk is blue lights, but still not a big problem.

the lighting isnt at all tacky, it lights individual key letters rather than just a simple lightbulb behind the keyboard.

Also the lights can be turned off / low / high.

Takes alittle while to stop hitting G5 & G6 keys as there close to the shift & ctrl buttons, but after 3 days ive adapted n gotten used to it (u can also set these keys to actually be Ctrl & Shift keys incase u have problems adapting.)

Flick switch on the top left is quite nice, it disables/enables the Start menu button, so u dont accidently minimize ur games.

The screen is very nice since it gives u all the info ull ever need in WoW etc, can download more applications for it to make it do whatever u want.

Standard display (until ur doing something) is generally an analogue clock on the left with an email icon stating how many emails u have (hotmail included), along with a digital read out of time & date.

And last but not least, the build quality seems to be very good its not cheap or tacky feeling, the flick switch for the start button could maybe feel abit stronger but still, very good build quality.

All in all this keyboard is king in my opinion, it really makes a computer look special.

Inferior product to the original keyboard

This is the new and 'upgraded' version of the G15 gaming keyboard. Some of the major points are:-

1) The keyboard has been downgraded by swapping the large lcd screen to a much smaller version which is hard to read. The screen is fixed where as you could angle the old one or even flip it down so it was out of the way.

2) They have removed 2 sets of G keys (the programmable macro keys) so you only have 6 instead of 18!

3) It now has shocking orange for backlit keys and lcd instead of the cool blue on the original.

4) Cheaper product, no more rubberised surrounding.

The only good point is the keyboard is smaller If you have a small desk. This keyboard should also be sold cheaper than the original as It is using less & cheaper components

 One Word... Superb

It has been around a year now since I received this (I actually ordered the V1 version, but was just as happy to obtain the new V2)

This isn't some tacky keyboard, and it does everything it says it does. The back lighting is flawless, and the G-Keys are handy. I have found myself using them both in game, and in applications such as Adobe Photoshop.

With 6*3 G-Keys, and different accounts being set up for each game/application of choice, you are sitting with more than enough combination's to further utilize that game. Perfect for in-game voice binding and such.

And now onto the LCD screen. To be perfectly honest with you, I haven't used it in a while, Because it runs the LCD apps from your computer, using up memory, and I like to have a "as fast as possible system" - But in the period I did use it, works great.

It was a shame to not find all that many scripts, Logitech haven't really supplied many either. However there are some decent RSS/System spec versions around, and it instantly works for programs such as Fraps/XFire. The only flaw I found was in the software package that came with it, which was a bit buggy in areas, but nothing you couldn't work around :)

Then we have the back light. What can I say? I am looking at it now after a year, and it still is as bright as ever.

This is a good, solid keyboard. Provides you with some neat features and tools, making it more than just "eye-candy"
If your looking for a gaming grade, yet sturdy keyboard, look no further. For a decent price, you too could own this MOAK (Mother of all keyboards)

 Good

A very nice keyboard. Everything is fine, But you have to get used to the keys being slightly different. It just feels different. Very smart and very helpful keyboard. Keys are kind of hard, so you have to put a little more effort into each keypress than usual. Very sleek. Standard size "smaller than it's brother" and basically much better than the blocky Logitech G15 Version 1....

 Excellent Keyboard

Now I am not into "gaming". So why buy a gaming keyboard you ask ? Well, simple - it has illumimnated keys which make it perfect for photo editing, something I do a lot of. I think Logitech's biggest mistake is to market it solely as a gaming keyboard. For ages I would bemoan the fact that I had to keep switching on the light to see the keyboard to perform an edit and then switch off to view the results. If only someone made an illuminated keyboard I thought! I would often browse the local computer shops hoping that one might be introduced by there was no such thing on the "keyboard" shelves. One day I happened to mention to a shop assistant "why doesn't someone make an illuminated keyboard." ?
They do he replied. "They are over in the gaming section".
Search over. I purchased one and have been absolytely delighted. Apart from the illuminated keys, the G keys are very handy to set up to perform regular tasks and I use these with Adobe all the time. I also like to play music while editing and find the LCD screen useful as it displays the title being played, the artist and track length. It is an excellent all round keyboard, not just for gaming.
