Excellent Value Joystick - rudder, throttle & force feedback

The joystick is of good quality with a rubber handle which gives good grip. There are 4 suckers on the base which stop it moving about. There are 12 buttons, 6 on the handle with an 8 way POV switch and 4 on the base. The handle twists for rudder control and there is a slider for throttle control. All of the switches give a postive click when used. The force feedback is limited compared with a Microsft force feedback stick but at a fraction of the price this is not a complaint.
The software took a reload to get all the buttons working and is used to calibrate the controls and set the amplitude and strength of the vibration force feeback. I bought the stick to go with IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 and the feedback helps to warn you if you are overdoing things. You can switch the force feedback off with a switch under the base.
The software provides for a key map but tthe instructions don't tell you how to do it. I thought this would allow me to map keyboard keys to joystick switches, e.g. F key for flaps down to switch 11 . After a bit of experimentation it seems as though you can only change the mapping of the joystick switches, e.g. you can change the physical switch 12 to also perform the function of physical switch 1 and you can save several configurations for use with different games. The same joystick is £20+ elswhere and is a real bargain at £14.99

 Poor quality

They joystick is nice when its working.

However mine broke after a few weeks of use. Spend money on a better quality stick and avoid this.

EDIT

Im going to leave my original comments here, however I Wanted to update this review. The replacement I had from Logic 3 has now been working perfectly for some time. I must say now, that the joystick has a lot of functionality for the price compared with its competitors. Maybe I was unlucky with the first one I had.

Upping my score to 4 out of 5, I actually really like the joystick.

If you need/want accuracy or a robust joystick i would not recommend it.
The movement of this stick is not very smooth and my one broke after a few months of light use (I like to think that this is because i am stronger than i look).
