I bought this to upgrade my 2 year old i5 Vaio from 4gb to 8 gb for gaming and design purposes.
It hasn't made much difference in the basic functioning of my laptop, but when it comes to gaming there is much less slow down and I can have my graphics settings higher.
For the price this is highly useful and equally the instructions are easy to follow to install the ram. If you are worried you can find useful websites and videos to help you. It is just a case of unscrewing one panel of your laptop, un-clipping the old ram and inserting the new.
Make sure it works on your laptop though first by checking the specs on a review site of the manufacturer's website.
