Pros
Low price, large amount of storage, play.com's quick delivery
Cons
No e-sata cable and therefore transfer rates are not quite as high as they could be (this won't affect most people though and is not enough to knock a star off)
Other thoughts
Fantastic drive at low price from the one of the most reliable computer companies, Buffalo.
Also in response to an earlier reviewer depending on how you format the drive you get different amounts of memory, 33Gb is actual quite a common amount to lose over 500gb and it is nothing to worry about and rest assured that there is actually 500gb of possible memory on the drive just if is not all usable by the computer. The easiest waay to think about it is to use a diamond analogy that in order to make it look beautiful you often lose some of the diamond in the cleaning process. Hope this helped
you try it you will like it as i do

The Buffalo 500gb Hard Drive. So easy to set up and does what it says. Automatically backs up any item you add to the folders you have backed up. It swiches itself on when you boot up the pc, so it's always ready, but also turns off when you shut down your pc. I've baclked up all my photo, music etc and still have lots of space for movies and anything else i wish to add. Great product, great price. Cheapest on the net
Buffalo Best Value for the money?

Fantastic External hard drive that will have you storing your precious files in minutes from leaving its box. Works A1 with vista, xp & Me, No messing around needed to get this baby full. It also runs super fast through the USB and is extremely quite, build quality far surpasses the monies paid. Power supply can cook an egg but apart from that the best value for money 500 gigger out there.
Great

Great storage for the cost, works good.It small and quiet, the power supply gets a little warm but it cools fast when not in use. I think everyone should have one of these, I prefer them over little data sticks!
Pagage included all the drivers / archive and backup software/ data encription for authorised use only - Great stuff ( on vista however it didnt seem to want to install - i had to boot the exe's from the folders on the cd - which didnt install anyway because vista doesnt need or like them i.e. not verified vita drivers so wouldnt install ) But its plug and play anyway!
Amazing price for all this at £89
