When sitting on my lap, I strain to see the windows standard sized icons/menu text on the higher native resoultion 1366 x 768 display, so I've had to enable larger icons/text options thus cancelling out any advantage of the larger desktop area. The more common 10" native display of 1024 x 600 ensures bigger overall icons/text at standard sized windows settings, but it is not possible to even emulate these display settings.
The battery is only a 3 cell 24WHr.
The keyboard layout is silly - the right SHIFT key is annoyingly small and the power on key requires an unconventional slide action.
I advise to Try BEFORE you buy!
I have been thinking about getting this Vaio for a while now - Play had this up for 249 which i think is a steal! OK netbooks in general have pretty much the same spec, but i have to admit this is a lovely looking machine....received it yesterday and to be honest i think it was the last one Play had as the price has shot up to 499. The price had only dropped because it had XP on it, W7 upgrade is fairly straight forward. If you find it on the Web for under 270 then go for it! Pure Sony quality. Thanks to Play for quick delivery
Battery life is way longer than stated, left it on for 7hrs!!!
Screen resolution is best in class...1366 x 768 so looks much clearer.
If you can afforf to spend a little extra I would recommend, just a shame it doesn't come with 2Gb or ram, easy to upgrade though.
Great all round netbook, A+ to Sony.
